How much does house washing cost in Auckland?
Our house soft wash starts from $350 + GST for a standard-sized Auckland home. The final price depends on the size of the property, cladding type, and level of soiling. We provide a free on-site assessment so you know exactly what to expect before we start.
How much does roof treatment cost?
Roof treatments start from $450 + GST. This includes a full chemical application to kill moss, lichen, and algae across your entire roof. Pricing varies based on roof area, pitch, and accessibility.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes — every quote is free with no obligation. We conduct an on-site assessment of your property to evaluate the surfaces, soiling level, and any access requirements so we can give you an accurate, transparent price.
What's included in The Full Method?
The Full Method is our comprehensive exterior clean starting from $850 + GST. It includes a full house soft wash, roof treatment, gutter clean and flush, driveway high-pressure clean, fence wash, and deck clean and prep — all with environmental protection and compliance documentation.

What is soft washing?
Soft washing is a low-pressure cleaning method that operates under 500 PSI, combined with biodegradable detergents specifically formulated to break down organic growth. Unlike high-pressure water blasting, soft washing cleans the surface without risking damage to cladding, paint, or joinery.
Is soft washing safe for weatherboards?
Absolutely. Soft washing is safe for all common Auckland cladding types — timber weatherboards, Hardie plank, brick, plaster, Linea, and painted surfaces. The low-pressure application means zero risk of forcing water behind cladding or stripping paint.
How long does a soft wash last?
A professional soft wash typically lasts 12–18 months in Auckland's climate. Results depend on factors like shade, moisture levels, and proximity to trees, but you can expect your home to stay visibly cleaner for well over a year.
Do you clean driveways and concrete?
Yes. We use a dedicated 3,500 PSI high-pressure system with a 21-inch surface cleaner for driveways, paths, patios, and other concrete or paved surfaces. This delivers an even, streak-free finish across the entire area.
Can you prepare surfaces for painting?
Yes — our pre-paint wash service meets the specifications required by Resene and Dulux for surface preparation. We remove all contaminants, oxidation, and loose material so your new paint adheres properly and lasts longer.

Are you insured?
Yes. Wash Method carries $2 million in public liability insurance. We're fully covered for all residential and commercial exterior cleaning work, so you can have complete peace of mind.
Are your technicians heights certified?
Yes. All of our technicians hold current Working at Heights certification. This allows us to safely clean multi-storey buildings, steep roof pitches, and elevated surfaces in full compliance with New Zealand health and safety regulations.

Are you Auckland Council compliant?
Yes. We follow a full stormwater management protocol to prevent chemical runoff from entering the stormwater system. This includes drain bunding, pre-soaking gardens, and using only biodegradable, council-approved products.
Process & Results
How long does the cleaning take?
Most residential jobs take between 2–6 hours depending on the size of the property and the scope of work. A standard house wash typically takes 2–3 hours, while a Full Method clean on a larger home may take a full day.
Do I need to be home?
Not necessarily. As long as we have access to an external tap and a power point, we can complete the work while you're away. We'll send you before-and-after photos and a completion report when we're done.
How soon will I see results on my roof?
Our chemical treatment kills moss, lichen, and algae on application. You'll notice the growth changing colour within days. The dead organic matter then washes off naturally over 4–8 weeks with rainfall, leaving a clean surface underneath.
Will you protect my garden?
Always. We pre-soak all surrounding foliage before we start, bund stormwater drains to prevent runoff, and use only biodegradable, plant-safe products. Your garden is in safe hands.
