Dwell Application Method
We apply a concentrated 3–4% sodium hypochlorite solution directly to the roof surface using low-pressure spray lances from ground level or secure ladder positions. The chemical is left to dwell, penetrating the root system of moss, lichen, and algae. There is no high-pressure blasting and no walking on your tiles — both of which cause more damage than the growth itself.
No Walking on Your Tiles
Concrete tiles become brittle with age, and foot traffic cracks them. Cracked tiles lead to leaks, which lead to costly ceiling and framing repairs. Our method keeps all operators off the roof surface entirely. We work from ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms depending on the roof profile and pitch, ensuring zero risk of breakage.
Chemical Kills the Root System
The key advantage of a chemical dwell treatment over mechanical scraping or pressure washing is permanence. The SH solution kills organic growth at its root, so it doesn't simply regrow in a matter of weeks. After treatment, dead moss dries out and is gradually washed away by Auckland's rainfall over the following four to eight weeks, leaving a clean, restored surface.
